Central provinces promote tourism in Thailand

Ha Noi (VNA) – The central provinces of Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue and Da Nang city organised a roadshow in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 30 to promote their tourist packages to Thai travel agencies.

“Thailand, with its strong tourism industry, is an important partner for central provinces in their tourism development strategies,” said Ho Tan Hung, a representative of the programme’s organising board.

Nguyen Phong Hung, Director of New Century Hotel in Hue and Victoria Hoi An Tourism Resort in Quang Nam, said he expects that the roadshow will be useful in attracting more visitors from Thailand, especially when the Friendship 2 Bridge linking Lao and Thailand becomes operational.

A representative from Thailand’s 2002 Travel Company said that Viet Nam is a popular holiday spot for Thai visitors, especially through caravan tours.

Viet Nam has clocked in over 12,000 Thai tourists so far this year, an annual growth rate of 30 percent.-Enditem
