Malaysia to build 3.5 billion USD university area in HCM City
HCM City (VNA) – Malaysia's Berjaya Group has announced that it will embark on a massive 3.5 billion USD urban development project in Ho Chi Minh City.A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Berjaya Land Berhad Company, the group’s affiliate, and the Management Board of the HCM City Northwestern Urban Area on August 1 that underscored the ambitious 884ha International University Urban Area.
Located in the city’s outlying districts of Cu Chi and Hoc Mon, the project, planned to be launched in early 2008, will include three universities, a residential and urban area, a trade and service centre, an information technology zone and an entertainment centre, which is expected to be the first of its kind in Viet Nam.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan said that the new development would train high-quality human resources for Ho Chi Minh City and the country as a whole. -Enditem
