Tay Ninh province exports 50,000 tonnes of tapioca
Tay Ninh (VNA) – Southern Tay Ninh province has so far this year exported 50,000 tonnes of tapioca, earning more than 13 million USD.In the first half of August alone, the province fetched more than 2 million USD from exports of over 7,700 tonnes of tapioca. The product were mainlyshipped to Japan and China.
Thankes to the earnings, processors have increased prices of cassava bought from farmers to between 1,000-1,040 VND per kilo.
Tay Ninh is the largest cassava producer in the country with yield averaging 32,000 tonne per ha per year. The province now houses 80 household processing establishments and more than 10 processing factories to turn out tapioca for export.-Enditem
