VN-Index continues to dip as HSTC applies real-time order matching
VietNamNet Bridge - The VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh City Securities Trading Centre on July 30 continued to lose 14.92 points or 1.59% on July 30, the first day it applied the automatic order matching method and closed at 925.44 points, the lowest level so far this year.Both trading volume and value also dropped sharply with only 2.95 million share traded in the order matching method for VND 260.8 billion. Investors also negotiated to trade nearly 248,000 shares worth VND 23.3 billion.
Many investors came to securities trading floors but they merely watched how the new system worked rather than made orders. The situation is predicted to continue in the next few days as investors need time to get accustomed to the automatic order matching method.
Only ten stocks gained while 81 others were down and 20 stationary. Two blue chips VNM and FPT on this session gained VND 5,000 and VND 3,000 a piece respectively.
FPT also topped in traded volume with over 280,000 FPT shares were changed hands, followed by STB, 240,000 units traded and VNM, over 90,000 shares traded.
BMC, TCT, KDC, NKD, TDH, SIS, SAM, GMD were all in the list of losers, losing from VND 6,000 to VND 16,000 each piece.
This session, foreign investors bought some 490,000 shares of 41 codes worth VND 81 billion, accounting for 31.08% of the total market transactions while sold 1.044 million shares worth VND 93 billion, accounting for 35.79% of the total market transactions.
Technological problems were reported at the Thang Long Securities Company. There was no data as the real-time trading board was disconnected.
In Hanoi the HaSTC-Index continued to lose 3.64 points or 1.41% to 255.2 points. Total traded volume reached 1.175 million shares worth VND 123 billion, up 51.93% in volume and 62.2% in value compared to the previous trading session. Foreign investors increased buying. They bought a total of 496,600 shares of 18 stocks worth nearly VND 50 billion while sold 242,000 shares worth nearly VND 16 billion.
