Philippines, DPRK establish bilateral consultation mechanism

Ha Noi (VNA) - The Philippines and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) have signed an agreement to establish a bilateral consultation mechanism.

The agreement, inked by Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo and his DPRK counterpart Pak Ui Chun on July 29, will provide a regular forum for the two countries to discuss on a broad range of issues.

At their bilateral meeting prior to the agreement signing in Manila, Romulo and Pak reaffirmed the Philippines and DPRK's commitment to further broadening the frontiers of peace in the Asia-Pacific region.

Minister Pak is on an historic official visit to Manila back-to-back with DPRK's participation in the ASEAN Regional Forum. He is the first foreign minister of the DPRK to visit the Philippines. –Enditem
