Ha Noi (VNA) - Zamil Steel Viet Nam signed a 3.7 million USD contract with Hazama Corporation - a Japanese construction company - to design and construct a factory for Uniden Viet Nam Co. Ltd, a producer of wireless telephones.
The factory will measure over 60,000 sq.m, comprising four buildings utilising the MaxSEAM roof system, one of the strongest and most weather-tight standing seam systems, according to Zamil.
The new manufacturing facility will be located in the Tan Truong Industrial Zone in the northern province of Hai Duong. The contract has been implemented and construction will be completed in November.
It will generate over 7,000 jobs when it goes on-line.
Uniden Viet Nam, a Japanese invested export processing enterprise, has investment capital exceeding 60 million USD.
"We are proud to be the supplier for Uniden Viet Nam Company," said Zamil general director George Kobrossy. "The contract proves that we are able to undertake large projects in a short time while keeping our commitment to quality products.
"Zamil Steel is now one of the leading prefabricated steel suppliers in Viet Nam. However, we are aware that we must make great efforts to maintain the position," George said, noting that quality, services and human resources were all priorities.
Zamil plans to open a new factory as well - its second - in the Amata Industrial Park in the southern province of Dong Nai [the existing one is located in the Noi Bai Industrial Zone, Ha Noi] to expand its assembly lines, he said.
Zamil in early July supplied Malaysian contractor Domain Resources with a 1.5 million USD steel frame for the construction of a 1,000 tonne hangar at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.-Enditem | |
