Dong Nai hits 3.4 billion USD in exports
Dong Nai (VNA) - Southern Dong Nai province raked in more than 3.4 billion USD in exports in the year's first eight months, a year-on-year increase of 28.4 percent.Of the total, foreign-invested enterprises’ exports accounted for 90 percent or close to 3.2 billion USD with electronic chips and components, footwear, food, clothes and cottons being the big drivers.
Footwear exports fetched nearly 15 million USD, a rise of 13.5 percent over the corresponding period last year; refined wooden products, 17.4 million USD with a 4.6 percent increase, and fine arts, nearly 5 million USD.
The province exported 8,950 tonnes of cashew nuts, doubling the figure of the same period last year, 33,300 tonnes of coffee, a 3 percent increase and 532 tonnes of rubber, up 9.5 percent.
In the eight-month period, Dong Nai also imported various kinds of trucks, fertilisers, industrial chemical substances, medicine and machinery equipment worth 3.9 billion USD.-Enditem
