China calls for more cooperation among Asian media

Beijing (VNA) – A senior Chinese leader on August 23 called for more cooperation among Asian media to deliver the "voice of Asia" better throughout the world.

"China hopes to improve the cooperation with Asian media groups and increase the voice of Asia in the international community,” said Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, in a meeting with media representatives from ten member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK).

The media representatives were in Beijing from August 21 to 23 for the first ASEAN+3 media cooperation forum, held at the suggestion of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at the 10 th ASEAN+3 summit held in January in the Philippines.-Enditem
