Deputy FM visits Ecuador for broad talks
Ha Noi (VNA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Le Van Bang held talks with his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Paredes in which a focus was placed on culture, science and technology, tourism, oil and gas, agriculture, fisheries and consumer goods production.While in Ecuador from August 19-21, Bang was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration Maria Fernanda Espinosa and held working sessions with representatives of the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Petroleum and the Ecuadorian Petroleum Group (PetroEcuador).
Ecuadorian governmental officials said that have been eager to broaden the Ecuador-Viet Nam relationship and have backed the Southeast Asian nation’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council on the 2008-09 term.
During his three-day visit, Deputy FM Bang and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration Maria Fernanda Espinosa signed an agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders of the two countries.-Enditem
