Finance Minister appreciates IMF help
| Ha Noi (VNA) – Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh appreciated the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s help to Viet Nam in the macro economic management and hoped that the IMF will closely work with Viet Nam in its economic reform. Minister Ninh was working with outgoing senior resident representative of the IMF in Viet Nam Il Houng Lee and newly-appointed IFM senior resident representative in Viet Nam Benedict F.W. Bingham. Houng Lee spoke highly of Viet Nam’s economic achievements while stressing that there remains many challenges ahead. However, he said, Viet Nam should focus on settling issues such as devising international standard budget mechanism and ensuring good management of Viet Nam’s debts. He informed his host that he will leave Ha Noi by the end of next month after finishing his term of office in Viet Nam and that Benedict F.W. Bingham will take his place.-Enditem |
