PM leaves for visits to Singapore, Myanmar, Brunei

Ha Noi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, his wife, and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government left Ha Noi for official visits to Singapore, Myanmar Brunei on August 13.

The visits, which will last until August 16, are made at the invitations of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Myanmar's Prime Minister Soe Win and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam.

This is PM Dung's first trip to the three said ASEAN countries since he was re-elected by the 12th National Assembly as Viet Nam's Prime Minister and also an ASEAN usual practice for newly-elected leaders to pay courtesy visits to other member countries.

He was accompanied by Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh; Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Tran Van Tung; Vietnamese Ambassador to Brunei Pham Binh Man; Vietnamese charge d'affaires to Singapore Nguyen Quoc Loc; Vice Director of the Government Office Nguyen Quoc Huy; Chairman of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vu Tien Loc, and Assistant to the Prime Minister Nguyen Van Tung.

His entourage also includes deputy ministers of Finance, Planning and Investment, Education and Training, Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Industry and Trade and Chairmen of the People's Committees of Phu Yen, Thua Thien-Hue, Bac Ninh provinces and Hai Phong city.-Enditem
