Vietnamese PM, Brunei Sultan hold talks

0816_Dung.jpgBandar Seri Begawan (VNA) - How to boost cooperation in economics, trade, and investment between Viet Nam and Brunei was order of the day in talks between Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and H.M Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei in Bandar Seri Begawan on August 15.

The two leaders pinpointed cooperation in the oil and gas industry, a leading industry for Brunei and one Viet Nam is keen to develop.

PM Dung suggested the two countries up cooperation in the labour sector as Viet Nam boasts an abundant workforce and Brunei has a great demand for guest workers.

The Vietnamese leader pledged to provide favourable conditions for Brunei investors in infrastructure construction, industrial zones, hotels and tourism.

To further boost economic ties, the two leaders agreed to assign relevant ministries to organise more trade promotional activities, trade fairs and seminars.

They agreed to increase the exchange of visits and organise the first session of the Viet Nam-Brunei Joint Committee soon in order to promote ties.

The two leaders said they were pleased at developments in the two countries' traditional friendship and cooperation, especially in politics, economy, culture, sports and physical training and education and training.

PM Dung said he believed his visit would help bolster Viet Nam 's cooperation with Brunei.-Enditem
