Indian Independence Day celebrated in Ha Noi

Ha Noi (VNA) – Indian Ambassador to Viet Nam Lal. T. Muana on August 15 held a reception in Ha Noi to mark the 60th anniversary of his country’s Independence Day (August 15).

Ambassador Muana hailed the close friendship between the two countries, which was reflected in high level visits and the growing cooperation in trade, investment, science, education, military personnel training and cultural exchanges.

He singled out the official visit to India in July of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung as an important event that further tighten the close relations between the two countries.

Addressing the function, Vietnamese Science and Technology Minister Hoang Van Phong said India’s declaration of independence 60 years ago was an event of great significance in the mankind history.

Phong who is also President of the Viet Nam-India Friendship Association expressed his belief that the traditional friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries would be fruitfully developed not only for mutual benefits, but also for peace, stability and development in Asia and the world as a whole.-Enditem
