Vinacafe given green light to grow coffee in Laos
Vientiane (VNA) - The Viet Nam National Coffee Corp (Vinacafe) will invest an initial close to 5 million USD in growing coffee on 1,000 hectares of land in Laos's southern province of Champassak.An agreement to this effect was signed between Vinacafe and the Champassak authorities in the Lao capital of Vientiane last weekend.
The project is expected to create jobs for thousands of people in the projected areas, thus contributing to reducing poverty in the province.
The Champassak authorities also plan to allocate Vinacafe with another 3,000ha-5,000ha for growing coffee.-Enditem
