Gov’t Offices Not To Have Air-Conditioners At Under 25oC

Government offices are only permitted to set air conditioners at the cooling status of 25oC upwards. Air conditioners must be turned off some 30 minutes before offices are closed and when there is nobody in offices.This is the content of an instruction on electricity savings in Hanoi, which has been issued by Vice Chairperson of the Hanoi People’s Committee Phi Thai Binh.The instruction also says that offices and agencies that are funded by the state budget must use compact or fluorescent bulbs when they replace and install new bulbs.The Hanoi Department of Industry is assigned to inspect and timely punish government offices that don’t obey this instruction.This is one of the measures taken by Hanoi to save electricity while the country is in shortage of power during the summer.
