Expressway in Mekong Delta gets greenlight
Can Tho (VNA) – The People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho has given the go ahead for an expressway to link the city with Hau Giang province.The 47km long and 23m wide four-lane highway will be built at an estimated cost of more than three trillion VND (187 million USD) by the Department of Transport and Civil Engineering.
Work on the first phase of the project is scheduled to begin this year at an estimated cost of nearly 389 billion VND and is slated for completion by 2010.
Once completion, the express way is expected to play a critical role in boosting socio-economic development in the region.-Enditem
