NA Chairman welcomes Japanese MPs

Ha Noi (VNA) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong was full of praise for Japan 's assistance to Viet Nam , as he met with a delegation of the Japanese parliament in Ha Noi on Aug. 13.

The NA Chairman laid out to the Japanese parliamentarians , led by Takebe Tsutomu, Chairman of the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentarians Union, the results of the country's opening 12th National Assembly session and vowed to ratchet up the democratic process with the law making body.

The two sides agreed to increase exchanges and cooperation in various forms between parliamentary members of the two countries.

Tsutomu said that regular exchanges of information and parliamentary delegations between the two sides would improve mutual understanding and cooperation between the two parliaments and the two countries as well.

He said the Japanese parliament and people placed importance on developing friendship and cooperation with Viet Nam .

The same day, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh warmly received Tsutomu and his delegation in Ha Noi.

The Party leader highlighted efforts made by the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentarians Union and Tsutomu himself to boost the two countries' friendly and cooperative ties.

He stressed that the Vietnamese Party and State always attach importance to boosting friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan. -Enditem
