Ha Noi (VNA)- The Steering Committee of the National Assembly, 12th legislature, met on August 18, looking to roll out an ambitious plan for the upcoming general assembly that will focus on a raft of economic and social issues.
The committee members heard a report by the NA Office that said the second plenary session of the NA is scheduled to open on October 23 and last for between 28 and 33 days.
Six bills, regarding the individual income tax; product quality; prevention of domestic violence; contagious diseases control; chemical standards; pardon and amnesty, are likely to be ratified by the NA at the coming session.
Its agenda includes a resolution on a law-making programme for the current NA term from 2007-2011, and the year of 2008.
The law-makers will also discuss ten other bills, including medical insurance, land use, administrative procedures, public affairs, State use commandeering, and atomic energy.
The NA will also look at the reviews of implementing socio-economic targets, the State budget of 2007, socio-economic plans and State budget estimates of 2008; works done by the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Inspectorate; court sentence execution; criminal control, corruption and national security.
The settlement of petitions and claims, outbreaks of and measures to contain poultry and animal diseases, traffic safety and education reform, particularly in the restructuring of all national exams, will also be included in the agenda.--Enditem | |
