Prime Minister highlights cooperation with Singapore


0817thutuong02.jpgHa Noi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Deputy Prime Minister cum Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister of Law of Singapore Jayakumar in Ha Noi on August 17.

PM Dung welcomed the Singaporean Deputy PM's visit, describing it as a vivid example of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He recalled his fresh visit to Singapore , appreciating mutual agreements on economic and education and training cooperation.

He told the Singaporean law minister that Vietnamese relevant agencies are working to complete legal institutions for a market economy, for the people's execution of the right to democracy, and for the fight against crimes and the safeguard of social order.

The Vietnamese leader noted that cooperation with ASEAN countries, including Singapore , and other countries in the world in the judiciary field was a priority of the Vietnamese judiciary sector.

The Singaporean Deputy PM lauded PM Dung's recent visit to his country and said he believed that the visit created a new momentum for the two countries to implement their joint statement on the framework for all-sided cooperation and a framework agreement to connect the two economies.

He also said he was pleased with open discussions on the law making work, the combat against corruption, and the administrative reform with officials from the Justice Ministry, the National Assembly's Law Committee, the Supreme People's Court and the Viet Nam Lawyers' Association.-Enditem
