NA Chairman hopes for stronger ties with Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong is optimistic that Viet Nam and Malaysia will deliver on previously signed agreements in order to take their partnership into new arenas.

NA Chairman Trong met with Tan Sri Dato DiRaja Ramli bin Ngah Talib, Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, on the sidelines of the 28th meeting of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-28) in Kuala Lumpur, on August 21.

Having said that bilateral ties were on the right track, the Vietnamese top legislator said Viet Nam is keen to learn from Malaysia’s development experience and was grateful for the Southeast Asian country for its aid and assistance over the years.

Speaker Tan Sri Dato DiRaja Ramli bin Ngah Talib said Malaysia has pursued a dynamic policy and given priority to developing relations with other countries in the region.

He affirmed that Malaysia was willing to support and share experiences with Viet Nam, particularly in economic management and agriculture, and spoke highly of Viet Nam’s positive contributions to the AIPA.-Enditem
