Ha Noi (VNA) – An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck the southern Philippines on August 20, the US Geological Survey has said.
The epicentre of the quake, which occurred at 9.46pm (local time), was reported to be 209 kilometres southeast of the Mati town on Mindanao island.
Another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 struck Papua in Indonesia on August 21.
The quake was centered 101 kilometres from Tanahmerah, Irian Jaya, and occurred at 6.30 am (local time), 10 kilometres underground, the US Geological Survey said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.-Enditem | |
