Cambodia lays tracks for regional railway network

Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodia is looking at showing up its railway system in order to link it with Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam and Kunming province of China, according to the Cambodian Ministry of Transport.

The blueprint calls for Cambodia to repair and build a railway section from Phnom Penh to Poipet of Thailand and another from Phnom Penh through Battambang province to the border of Viet Nam .

The Ministry also reported that, Thailand would invest 500 million USD to build two tram lines in Phnom Penh. Construction is slated for next year and will be completed by 2011.-Enditem
