Philippine military attacks Abu Sayyaf
Ha Noi (VNA) - Philippine government forces attacked and engaged the Abu Sayyaf in a fire fight in Basilan province on August 18, said Armed Forces public information office chief Lt. Col. Bartolome Bacarro.The Philippines News Agency quoted Lt. Col Bartolome Bacarro as saying that around 30 Abu Sayyaf bandits and 15 Marine soldiers died while seven other soldiers were wounded as government forces assaulted an Abu Sayyaf stronghold in a remote hamlet on Basilan island.-Enditem
